These Red Velvet Cupcakes, whipped by Divya Nair from The Warm Toast; in association with Arttdinox, are an ideal Valentine's Day dessert.

They do require a few steps but they are quite easy to make and are sure to impress.
Follow the recipe below and bake away:
- 1 cup Flour
- ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 tsp White Vinegar
- ½ cup Oil
- 1 ¼ tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Baking Soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp Red Food Colouring
- 1 cup Whipped Cream
- 1 cup Cream Cheese
- 2-3 tbsp Powdered Sugar
- Sprinkles for topping
- Making of the batter: Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl - flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Pour in the wet ingredients in parts - buttermilk, white vinegar, oil, essence, and food colour. Mix everything well enough to avoid lumps and make the batter.
- Baking the cupcakes: Preheat the oven at 180 degrees celsius. Line the cupcake moulds with cupcake liners and pour in one scoop of batter into each mould. Bake for 11-13 min or until a fork dipped in the middle of the cupcake comes out clean.
- Icing the cupcakes: Take some whipped cream in a bowl. Optionally, add some fresh cream cheese, powdered sugar, and whip again. Ice with a star nozzle and sprinkle your favourite colourful sprinkles on top.
